Honda Celebration of Light Fireworks 2019

Described on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at English Bay, Vancouver | Free Event

VocalEye has reserved a limited number of seats at English Bay to describe Team Canada’s fireworks at the Honda Celebration of Light using VocalEye’s Fingerworks for Fireworks tactile technique. This event is free. Registration is required. Contact donna@vocaleye.ca

Let Donna know:

  1. if you are bringing a sighted companion (limit one per member – additional sighted friends can be put on a waiting list)
  2. if you need accessible/wheelchair seating
  3. if you’d like to reserve a trained Fingerworks volunteer to describe the fireworks for you
  4. if you want to join us after the event for a bite to eat at a nearby restaurant (this gives us a chance to socialize and wait for the crowds to thin out)

Our designated meetup time is 8 pm at Denman and Davie. Bring a cushion, blanket or something to sit on. Fireworks begin at 10 pm and last approximately 20 minutes.

Sighted companions and volunteers can learn and practice the Fingerworks for Fireworks description technique at our free annual workshop on July 14 with the creator of the technique, Collin van Uchelen. Check our workshop page for details.

Special thanks to The Vancouver Fireworks Festival Society/Honda Celebration of Light, the City of Vancouver and Brand Live for all their assistance and support.
