Fans of ’80s music will dig this self-referential, and occasionally meta-theatrical jukebox musical filled with classic rock and glam metal hits from bands such as Poison, Styx, Twisted Sister, Journey and White Snake. It’s 1987 and aspiring rocker Drew works at a Hollywood bar called the Bourbon Room, where he meets and falls madly in love with Sherrie, a fresh-faced Midwesterner who has recently moved to Los Angeles to chase her movie star dreams. Will their stars rise? Will their love last? Find all your favourite hits here in this musical story that will keep you holding on. Don’t stop believing!

Book and lyrics by Chris C’Arienzo
Arrangements and orchestrations by Ethan Popp
Directed by Peter Jorgensen

MAIN CHARACTERS

Lonny Barnet is the show’s Narrator, “sound god” and manager at the Bourbon Room.
Dennis Dupree is an aging former rocker and owner of the Bourbon Room.
Waitress #1 works in the Bourbon Room and becomes part friend, part rival to Sherrie.
Stacee Jaxx is a flamboyant rock star and former lead singer of a successful rock band called Arsenal.
Regina is the Mayor’s assistant in her 30’s, a former flower-child who wants to save the Strip from development.
Hertz Klinemann is a middle-aged real estate developer.
Franz Klinemann is Hertz’s son and assistant in his early 20’s.
Justice is a former blues singer who has an uncanny resemblance to Tina Turner. She runs the Venus Room (a strip club).
Ja’Keith is a slick, fast-talking boy-band agent who wears a lot of gold jewellery.

“Head-bangingly entertaining”The Georgia Straight

“Hair metal nostalgia at its best in Rock of Ages”Vancouver Sun

“Come ready to lift up your devil horns and rock along; Rock of Ages is glamorous fun.”Vancouver Theatre

“I’m not a huge fan of ’80s rock, but I found myself humming, toe tapping, and clapping along to these familiar rock anthems and might have even found a new appreciation for them by the end of the show. Rock of Ages is smart in its selections, advancing this boy-meets-girl story via emotional, leather-clad rock numbers, forcing the audience to root for these characters in their fumbling attempt at both finding love, and saving their bar from nasty, cheapskate real estate conglomerates.” -Lords of Dogwood
