Beloved singer, pianist, and songwriter Veda Hille takes us through her life using stories, Bach preludes, a selection of her own music, and some unique and surprising recordings—redefining autobiography as she goes along. Bracingly honest and daringly intimate, this musical memoir is a testament to love, a joyful embrace of nature, and so much more.
This recorded performance will be shared with a descriptive introduction for guests who are blind and partially sighted. Stay with us for a Q and A with special guest Veda Hille, joining us live after the show.

The VocalEye virtual lobby opens at 6:30 pm Pacific Time for some pre-show mingling with host Amy Amantea. The pre-show introduction will begin at 6:45 pm. The show begins at 7 pm. Running time is approximately 90 minutes followed by a Q and A with Veda Hille and a prize draw. All guests will be entered to win one of 2 tickets to Let the Music Flow, an online concert and fundraiser for the Alliance for Equality of Blind Canadians.
Veda Hille is a Vancouver musician, composer, theatre-maker, and performer. She writes songs, makes records, co-writes musicals, collaborates in devised theatre, and fulfills other interesting assignments as they arise. Veda performs in a wide array of places, alone or with bands, ensembles, symphonies, and casts. Her career spans 30 years of working in Canada and abroad, and shows no sign of flagging. VocalEye has described a number of her theatre projects that include A Craigslist Cantata, King Arthur’s Night, East Van Panto and Onegin.
Veda’s work circles around many recurring interests. Above all, she writes about the natural world, amazement and the unknown, and the intricacies of human relationships. She strives for an ecstatic connection through weird detail, the universe visible through a microscope. All fancy language aside though, Veda Hille chases down the songs that are in her head and does her best to deliver them to the world, beautifully.
