Almost Live episode #188

We’re thrilled to welcome back Kim Kilpatrick for an evening of storytelling! Kim’s new show “Put the Dog in the Trunk” details her personal rollercoaster journey of advocacy while in Calgary, intertwined with vivid characters from her childhood, school days, and working life.

Have you ever had one of those moments?  When you feel totally in control, confident, calm, relaxed, and then… all of a sudden… it’s like your foot hits a patch of ice and you slide… into advocacy mode?!

That’s what happened to Kim on a cold day in Calgary when a cab driver told her to put her guide dog Ginger in the trunk. This set of stories from the past and present, talks all about advocacy.  How did Kim learn to advocate for herself and others?  When did she do it well?  When did she do it badly?  What has she learned over a lifetime of advocating as a blind person in a sighted world? These stories take you through all emotions.

Kim has created four one-woman shows to date and in some ways, this is the most personal and introspective of them all. Come and join Kim and host Amy Amantea on this adventure of advocacy!
