Enjoy a play reading of Woman Against Gravity, with special guest playwright Olivia Etey!

Armed with her motto, “Suck life dry!” and her late husband’s parting words—“You have energy and only one life—so use it!”—Tessa takes a fearless leap into the unpredictable world of seniors’ online dating. With her best friend Patty as wingwoman, Tessa is on a mission to defy expectations and gravity itself, in a fierce pursuit of joy, connection, and living fully in the moment.

Can she find short-term companionship—or something deeper?

Woman Against Gravity was short-listed for the Lee Playwriting Award and has been developed through the rEvolver Festival, Western Gold Theatre’s Have a Senior’s Moment Festival (2024), TheatreOne’s Emerging Voices Program (2024), the Stage One Festival of New Canadian Works at Lunchbox Theatre (2021), and the Arts Club’s LEAP Program (2019).
