Lite Nite | Lux Radio Theatre’s The Glass Menagerie

Almost Live episode #210

Step into a tender memory from another time with this Lux Radio Theatre radio drama! In a small St. Louis apartment during the 1930s, Tom Wingfield dreams of escape while supporting his fading Southern-belle mother, Amanda, and his painfully shy sister Laura, who finds comfort in her fragile collection of glass animals.

When Tom brings home a “gentleman caller” for Laura, hope flickers for a new future. For one evening, Laura begins to step out of her quiet world…until an unexpected revelation shatters the illusion.

Tennessee Williams’ haunting story of longing, family, and fragile dreams comes to life in this intimate Lux Radio Theatre adaptation from 1954, where memories glow softly… and sometimes break like glass.

Length: 55 minutes
