Almost Live episode #211
The National Theatre (often called “the N.T.”) sits on the South Bank of the River Thames near Waterloo Bridge. From this iconic cultural hub comes an invitation: what if poetry were part of your everyday routine?
Inspired by the anthology series curated by Allie Esiri, Poem for Every Day of the Year shares 365 poems—one for each day—brought to life through readings by renowned British actors who lift the words from the page and transform them into performance. The selections span centuries, from William Shakespeare and John Keats to contemporary voices, all with the simple aim of making poetry part of daily life, no special occasion required.
This episode also features special poetry readings by VocalEye’s Lindsey Adams and is dedicated to the people of Ukraine.
