Almost Live: Awake with Alex Bulmer

Sunday, June 28, 2020 at 1:30 pm Pacific Time via Zoom

Awake is a short film by Michael Achtman. In this existential comedy, Anna is visited by Doreen, a door-to-door proselytizer who makes herself at home. Both characters are blind and played by blind performers Alex Bulmer and Margo Cargill. The film includes audio description.

Alex is an award-winning writer, actor and educator dedicated to inclusive collaborative art practice. Her work is fuelled by a curiosity of the improbable and deeply informed by her experience of becoming blind. We’re thrilled to have her join us for conversation plus a Q and A after the film.

Join host Amy Amantea in the VocalEye virtual lobby at 1:30 pm (PT) for a little pre-show mingling and a Social Eye round-up of accessible online arts news and reviews. Featured video streaming begins at 2 pm. Awake has a running time of 22 minutes and will be followed by a post-show Q and A with Alex Bulmer.
